Environmental Wellness. What is it? Why is it important?

Welcome to our fourth week on Holistic Wellness. We will be studying Environmental Wellness this week. How do we enjoy this beautiful planet we live on? How do we take care of our surroundings? Even if it seems like a momentous task, there are ways to improve our environment.

Point 1: What is Environmental Wellness?

Environmental wellness involves being able to be safe and feel safe where you live. That includes Being in harmony with the space you live in and being in harmony with the planet you live on.

Point 2: Green Living

In order to improve our environment, we need to live green. Living green is simple: it is about recycling and reusing things. Saving water and electricity is another way to live green. When you need to run errands, can you do them walking instead of driving? Recycling includes clothing as well. Do you need to buy a new wardrobe every month, or can you reuse your clothes?

Point 3: Change of Scenery

It is important to have a change of scenery once in a while. In a world where many of our jobs take place in small rooms with very little movement, it is important to be outside and to move when possible. Pollution makes this difficult, of course. If you are surrounded by filth all day, take some time to find a clean place outside to relax in.

Point 4: Home and Work Environment

You could also try having plants around your house. Having growing things around you, even if you are stuck inside, can be invigorating. Make the most of your environment.

Summary

Your surroundings will affect your life. Whether it is the outdoors or inside of your own house, keeping your environment clean and healthy will make your life better. Help your environment thrive, and your life will thrive as well!
