What Can We Learn From Khaby Lame, The Tiktok Star?

I have seen varying comments on LinkedIn concerning Khaby Lame’s success on TikTok and his recent collaboration with HUGO BOSS

Those criticizing Khaby’s success the most state that he has no talent but “luck”. Some believe that what Khaby is doing on Tiktok is too simple as one comment referred to as “throwing his hands around haphazardly” and should therefore not be rewarded this much in such a short period of time.

This is what I think:
Whether he tried for only a short period of time or whether it was completely luck that found him is immaterial. Khaby Lame was not sleeping in his bed wishing and hoping for success to find him.

Yes, everyone can throw their hands around “haphazardly”, but did they?

Khaby Lame took an action to try something new. Remember he had been laid off from his factory job in 2020. He took on this new adventure and found a niche that works for him. He could have settled for popular challenges and content on Tiktok but rather stayed consistent with his unique style and approach to video reaction.

If this is luck, then luck found Khaby Lame doing the right thing at the right time.
Luck found him taking action.
Luck found him investing time in his goals.
Luck found him trying.
Luck found him being Khaby Lame and not everyone else.

So my dear professionals, let’s take a cue from this.

Lesson 1: If you have an idea, no matter how simple or obvious it may be, give it a try. Ideas are fluid. What you fail to act on, another person may take the necessary initiative and enjoy whatever success comes with it.

Lesson 2: Be confident in your unique style/presentation/approach. Be bold to start your own trend and stick to it.

Lesson 3: Be consistent. You may win or lose but let luck find you doing the right thing at the right time.
